School Council

This term pupils took part in a whole school election on the 23rd September to form this year’s student council. This promoting pupils the opportunity to have their voices heard in line with the Fundamental Britisih Values. Student councilors were elected democratically, voting in each class.

Each class held their own ballot with pupils producing manifestos to share with their peers and staff in class. This provided pupils the opportunity to reflect on what qualities they could bring to the role and how they would make a difference to Heart of the Forest School. Pupils then took part in a vote using ballot papers, with some individuals using photographs of their peers to make their election choice.

The members of the council gather the views of the class throughout the year and report back to the Senior Leadership Team, to ensure that the pupil’s voice is heard in all aspects of school life. The Council also represent the school at events linked to the community.
