Outreach
We are currently running this service free of charge to support inclusion in the local community.
Below is a list of things we can help you to implement. We can also support the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle. We are able to observe individual pupils, with parents’ consent. We will model strategies for teachers to implement.
- Targets set at their level (even if at a different level from their peer group)
- Say how you have differentiated – through adult support, breaking down task, shorter tasks or more time to complete, use of resources.
- Check basic things such as seating, position in classroom, do they need footstool, writing slope? Can they see the board?
- Any interventions or small group work in place or tried.
- Language in classroom appropriate – concise, broken down instructions, instructions or questions directed to the pupil.
- Use of visuals – timetables, Now and Next, Reward chart, visuals for instructions.
- Integration of work done in interventions into the classroom.
- Any ICT or other resources used or tried.
- Environment adapted to meet individual needs e.g. physical, hearing, sight or sensory.
- Any pre-teaching, overlearning.
- Any particular supports for processing or any specific learning difficulty.
- Reasonable adjustments made, for example, for sensory sensitivities or physical disabilities.
- Behaviour plans in place.
